The presence of Filo!

The presence of Filo still lives! On October 28, at Henry Elementary, Filo made his appearance

once again sponsoring the October Arts and guess what?! Today marks the first official launch of "The Kiwi Station" 2nd Anniversary!

Even though its only been a year since Filo DaCat left us, his spirit remained with us today with the Henry Hawks! It was such a strong vibe from teachers and staff, students who were very curious to know what's behind a secret life as a small celebrity artist. And the Kiwi Station got a little taste of it today! Unsure of the outcome, the wooden Mascot panel came out with a little Halloween Twist, with a small certified pawprint raffle ticket, students got to experience what the Filo Campaign hosts.

Students were very intrigued by host Stephytoons, creator of Filo DaCat Comical cartoonist, and I must say as a guest speaker, as nerve racking it should be, the students made a welcoming experience, making Filo the number one guest for todays topic.

"I have never seen such little eyes so intrigued for Career Day, asking and participating in tons of question. Many of them said, I want to be an Artist now and meet famous people like you did. Focused and engage in the presentation provided, the spotlight was truly rewarding for Filo..."

The outcome of the entire morning was the Best! Started every class rotation with a small little comic story of Filo meeting the Henry Hawks. The presentation goes way back to 1998 as a little 4 year old Artist growing with Filo throughout the years in college until all that was left are inspirational stories of Filo becoming who he is today.

Students were able to see the growth of Filo from start to finish, meeting famous artists, being part of newspapers, ads, events, and Museums...and well that meant also giving the loving credit of our beloved Mascot his spotligh for his 5 years that he dedicated saving my life and other furry friends. As we continue to push boundaries forward with his cartoon in memory of Filo, he has impacted more than hundreds of people for giving back to the Autism Community, Disabled Artists, young artists emerging Artistry, and Animal Shelters.

"Filo was not only a companion, he was an Artist himself and gave life to the cartoon, a voice and was heard of"

Once the presentation ended, student were involved in a little game we call, "Meow!" Its simple, usually done online with tons of fans, buyers, and friends, we put simple questions up and whoever answers joins a free ticket raffle entry. The winner is then announced and the reward is shipped over. It may or may not include a Filo Product! However, with students face to face with Filo, we brought the Raffle game to School. Rules were: Do not flip over the raffle ticket until told, if you have a pawprint, it is a certified giveaway from behalf of Filo team. At a random selection, 16 students were selected to win, including two students that were dressed in artist gear, but only 4 students, 1 teacher were selected to obtain a very important pawprint metal.

The Kiwi Station was awarded first, for her hard work and understanding how to become your dream job isnt always easy. Her metal represents that anything even with a disability, anything is possible when you reach those dreams. A teacher was selected for answering correctly that we give back to the Autism Community and Donate to shelters, and 2 children were awarded the pawprint for answering 3 main topics of Filo purpose and the other was dressed as a Vet. The honor of having Filo at Henry Elementary really comes from the love and friendship of little friends like Henry Hawks who get inspired and hope to one day become their dream careers.

They are the biggest heroes that Filo would have loved to meet. Just like any event, this concludes our post of the day, and a huge message for the students to never forget "KEEP PUSHING FORWARD BECAUSE YOULL NEVER KNOW WHERE ANY CAREER WILL LEAD YOU NOMATTER WHAT FIELD IT IS."-MEOW!
