The presence of Filo still lives! On October 28, at Henry Elementary, Filo made his appearance
once again sponsoring the October Arts and guess what?! Today marks the first official launch of "The Kiwi Station" 2nd Anniversary!
Even though its only been a year since Filo DaCat left us, his spirit remained with us today with the Henry Hawks! It was such a strong vibe from teachers and staff, students who were very curious to know what's behind a secret life as a small celebrity artist. And the Kiwi Station got a little taste of it today! Unsure of the outcome, the wooden Mascot panel came out with a little Halloween Twist, with a small certified pawprint raffle ticket, students got to experience what the Filo Campaign hosts.
Students were very intrigued by host Stephytoons, creator of Filo DaCat Comical cartoonist, and I must say as a guest speaker, as nerve racking it should be, the students made a welcoming experience, making Filo the number one guest for todays topic.
"I have never seen such little eyes so intrigued for Career Day, asking and participating in tons of question. Many of them said, I want to be an Artist now and meet famous people like you did. Focused and engage in the presentation provided, the spotlight was truly rewarding for Filo..."
The outcome of the entire morning was the Best! Started every class rotation with a small little comic story of Filo meeting the Henry Hawks. The presentation goes way back to 1998 as a little 4 year old Artist growing with Filo throughout the years in college until all that was left are inspirational stories of Filo becoming who he is today.
Students were able to see the growth of Filo from start to finish, meeting famous artists, being part of newspapers, ads, events, and Museums...and well that meant also giving the loving credit of our beloved Mascot his spotligh for his 5 years that he dedicated saving my life and other furry friends. As we continue to push boundaries forward with his cartoon in memory of Filo, he has impacted more than hundreds of people for giving back to the Autism Community, Disabled Artists, young artists emerging Artistry, and Animal Shelters.
"Filo was not only a companion, he was an Artist himself and gave life to the cartoon, a voice and was heard of"
