Saying Goodbye

Updated: Apr 23

Story of Filo, the amazing orange Feline!

Filo DaCat came to my life in March 11th, 2021...Debating on the original name "Tigger", my daughter Samantha, said "Hey look he looks like Filo! That Filo mommy!" So Filo got stuck with Filo...As he grew older, in within the same year in October Filo began a hello system. Every morning he would give a high five reaching me for attention onto my left side. Meowing at me and began to jump from high places becoming a shoulder cat onto the left. He wasn't taught this... it was within the same end of year when I learned and heard news that would change everyone's lives forever...

October 2021: Thyrotoxicosis

A rare, and symptomatic cancer like symptom was announced and found on the left voice nodule. Thyrotoxicosis is a life threatening condition when the thyroid glands releases to much thyroid hormone into the system. After weeks of planning on medication to keep it down, I had issues with blood pressure, a high peak in heart rate, adrenaline, and possible Multiple Sclorosis symptoms. Filo knew something wasn't quite right and kept a everyday routine pawing on my left. In a matter of a year, after medication failed, it was decided to go through Iodine Radiation (similar to side effects for Chemotherapy) I only had 10 minutes to decide for myself to accept this step....after accepting the terms and conditions of the radiation, all side effects dawn on me and I went into deep silent depression, while being Diagnosed originally with PTSD, due to a bad terminated separation. while going through thoughts of the grieving process of 1%to 0 possible successful pregancies, I was given the opportunity in life by God to start a new life. In October 2022, it was announced I was cancer free!

During the healing process, I had discovered that Filo was an amazing best friend. Anytime, my blood pressure was high, high fives to my left hand, heart rate was accelerated left kiss on my cheek, anxiety or PTSD episodes, he became a shoulder cat on my left. Why on my left I thought? And then it made sense, my conditions were found on my left. All results came back from my left. He was my left hand! FILO dedicated 5 years pawing at me. He didn't leave my left side, instead he was not only my emotional support animal but he became my little feline doctor. Letting me know when my blood pressure was to high, take your meds! Meowing at me when sick, Go to doctor! Shoulder cat on duty, you have Anxiety my friend! High fiving me for attention, hey I sense an episode coming in...

5 years Deticated Cat

During these 5 years, Filo did many amazing things. Social media fans grew larger at art events, hosted comic strip release. Was on a newsletter ad by San Bernardino, the Sun. Opening up for the Christmas Tree City Event as a Mascot Character Art Display made in wood. He open doors to our dedicated Filo Campaign! and the list just keeps going. Fans grew an audience for the disabled, AUTISM, people from different places and life stories, PTSD victims. If only they knew the other half of the story... FILO made a personal impact to me. He open events for the cartoon to gain a fan audience. A cartoon that is much older than he was. A cartoon I started drawing at the age of 5, and build character to it year by year til I went to an art school, dedicating my portfolio to Filo for a childrens book, comics, illustrations, products....An amazing feline that will be so dearly missed...

Dec 17th, 2024: Saying Goodbye...

Unfortunately on Dec 17, 2024 our mascot FiloDaCat had passed. With our hearts heavy he no longer carries pain and was laid to Rest.

Filo began to grow more his following and views for raising awareness for shelters in need and autism. In the end of the year in 2024, with a possible liver disease indicating a Cancer spot himself. He fought for one entire week, everyday to say his goodbyes to everyone he loved....First he went to the kids room to say hello, found my mom in the kitchen to feel loved one last time. While wrapping gifts for Christmas, he sat on boxes like a king not letting the elves work on gift wrapping saying goodbye to my partner. Everyday going to work I said: just wait for me a little longer okay? For the rest of the entire week, he did his special hello system routine...Nomatter how much I held onto him, I was hurting, and symptoms started to elevate so He pawed my left side, he grew tired still trying to keep himself up, pawing at me. on his last day he got up kissed my left side and I knew I had to let him go. So I did "okay buddy... I know its time, your ready....you've done your job, you don't need to work for me anymore. Its okay to go home" The last person he stayed alive for was my dad, in within the hour, my dad came in and said "Hi Filo, you did good, thank you for the cartoons, go home" And finally on Dec 17...Filo took his last breath and passed on to the Rainbow Bridge...
